Exploring schooling experiences and the associated impact on mental health for
children with a Pathological Demand Avoidant (PDA) profile.
Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is considered to be a profile within the
autistic spectrum which is characterised by a strong need to avoid demands; this
is due to high levels of anxiety and a need to be in control. This study aims to
explore the schooling experiences of children who reportedly present with a PDA
profile. Children may or may not have a diagnosis of autism; it is not required for
inclusion in the study because eligibility will be determined based on completion
of two short questionnaires.
